Amichtka, a little area north of Alaska, where the government was conducting nuclear tests. It was located by a group of people they call themselves Greenpeace. The group was sailing when they discovered the little area in 1971. This little land is the reason Greenpeace formed an Organization. When they found out that the government was using this land to test their nuclear bombs, the group decided to step up and stop it. their banners say this "When the last tree is cut, the last river poisoned, and the last fish dead, we will discover that we can't eat money" and they strongly live up to it. They help us understand that if we don't pay more attention and put more effort into cleaning up and taking care of our environment, we will soon have nothing left.
